American softback edition of a classic title first published in 1938 as a result of the author spending a great deal of time with the Mercedes Benz equip during the 1937 season. Monkhouse himself was a close friend of the new team driver Richard Seaman and was also a world class photographer who worked for Kodak and had the use of the latest equipment which resulted in some of the most famous motor racing images of the pre-war era.
