The author was born in Modena and joined Maserati in 1951, worked as a general fitter, then in the experimental dept, the technical office and finally the commercial dept of the company , staying until his retirement in 1987 after which he was involved with setting up the Maserati Museum He's Maserati-through-and-through with a wealth of anecdotes from the production and racing car sides of the business on it's often tempestuous progress through financial crisis and take overs .
