178 page hardback charting a succession of ever more elaborate and technically ambitious aircraft planned and in some cases built and tested prior to the end of WW2 - mostly (often quite fanciful ) paper projects, illustrated by artwork and plans but the actual machines that were actually constructed are, where possible, shown in period photos so you have the Hienkel's P.10764 high altitude fighter, piston engined in late 1944. and the twin jet engine He280 (which lost out to the similar Me 262 and wasn't commissioned) as well as the fabled Horton Ho IX flying wing , the prorypeof which still exists.. Fascinating stuff. Very good condition book and jacket.
