World F1 champion and Indy 500 winner Jim Clark.
Jim is shown at speed in a Lotus Cortina Mk1 at Brands Hatch August Bank Holiday meeting 1966 about to try and pass future Lotus F1 team driver and Arrows team boss Jackie Oliver in his Ford Mustang.
Amateur photo but rather unusual even if it isn't that well focused and quite rare in being colour. Clark was almost as well known for his sublime driving of the Mk1 Cortina in British Saloon Car Championship events as he was for his silky smooth race wins in the Lotus F1 team. Oliver also drove for BRM and Shadow in F1, his best moment came when leading the 1968 British GP at Brands from team mate and World champion Graham Hill only for the DFV engine to blow up! He was one of the founders of Arrows F1 and stayed with the team as it's boss untill it was sold to TWR in 1996.
Amateur photo recently printed up in a commercial photo lab from original 35mm slide
Rather unusual in being colour. Most shots of the car you see are black and white.
