Lovely paddock shot of the legendary B Bira's F2 Gordini 16 at the 1952 British Grand Prix, Silverstone with his team mates Manzon and Trintignant's cars alongaside and to the rear.
Bira was a Siamese royal who lived in exile in Britasin, raced ERAs famously at Brooklands in the 30s and continued to race into the mid 1950s with an assortment of cars but decreasing levels of success. In this event he was part of the Gordini factory squad but only managed 11th, some 4 laps down on race winner Alberto Ascari (Ferrari) - Gordini's were not noted for their reliability and his team mates both retired early.
