Story of an overlooked Ferrari F1 star of the 1950s/50s. Allison, from the North of England, rose rapidly through the juniorranks of British racing (500cc Coopers, Lotus XI sports cars) that were producing the likes of Hawthorn, Moss and Brooks at the time and landed a factory drive with Team Lotus as they made their first foray in F1, alongside fellow rising star Graham Hill. Within a year Allison had been poached by Ferrari for their F1 and sports car teams alongside Gurney, Phil Hill, Ginther and Von Trips. Sadly a major accident at Monaco and another at Spa on his return to racing ended a promising career. 144 pages, fine condition book and jacket.
