FORD GT40 (chassis 1001) owned by Bernard White and driven by Alan Rees (the future director and founder of ARROWS) of Peter Sutcliffe. This shot was taken at the August Bank Holiday 1966 Brands Hatch GUARDS TROPHY a race in which the car was a retirement.
Chassis 1001 was originally the New York motor show car which passed to FAV, was loaned to Essex Wire for Le Mans in 1966, sold on to White who in turn sold it to Sid Taylor in 1967 for whom Denny Hulme drove it. Other drivers who raced the car included Charles Lucas, Frank Gardner and Roy Pike.
