That said it's not a book that casts too critical an eye over the sometimes unusual business practices of the great man, who did have an ability to cut a few corners ...
However he clearly was a genius, not only at designing road and race cars, but at self publicity and promotion. Motor racing has been a less colourful place since his untimely death in the early 1980s.
This book in full of tales about Lotus, it's famous drivers - Jim Clark, Graham Hill, Fittipaldi, Mario Andretti etc. and also a little about the involvement of Lotus if the DeLorean scandal in the early 80s. Generally a great read on a truly great figure in motoring and motor sport.
