 Large format hardback by a much respected historian tracing the developements in car design and construction from the end of the forties when most cars still sported pre war design features to the era of the 3-box saloon and widespread use of independant suspension and overhead cam engines. 240 large pages, lots of nice photos and some great period adveritsing as well as techical drawings, cutaways and so forth. Fine book, very good jacket
