The second of W O Bentley's autobiographies (The first being "W O" a decade earlier) this engaging book tells the story of the trained railway engineer who took to motor cars and racing before WW1, importing DFP cars into Britain, made his name designing aero engines during the war and with the status that gave him set up his sports car making firm in 1919. Everyone know the story of Bentley cars multiple Le Mans 24 hours wins in the 20s/early 30s and the demise of the company and it's sale to Rolls-Royce there after. WO gives and inside view and apportions blame as he seems fit, moving on to design engines for Lagonda in later years . Interesting stuff from a giant figure in motoring history. Very good condition book, jacket has some wear along the top edges and at the corners with minor water stain at the base of the spine.
