ORIGINALLY POSTED Setpember 2013.
If your passion is handmade sportscars from Malvern then Shelsley Walsh was the place to be on Saturday 28th September. The inaugural THRILLS OF THE HILL day was blessed with mild autumnal weather, blue skies and a dramatic aerobatic display by a Spitfire.

Aside from a gathering of the Morgan faithfull , many of whom took the opportunity to drive up the famous 1000 yard hillclimb course, there were fairground rides, laser clay Pidgeon shooting, a dinky traction engine (which also went up the hill!)

a rather good live band and quite a lot of trade stands to keep everyone occupied.
The Spitfire was most certainly the highlight bringing forth a chorus of ooooohs and aaahhhhs from the crowd as it rolled and looped at low level over the beautiful Teme valley for a good ten minutes or so, the rich growl of the supercharged V12 Rolls Royce engine echoing off the hillsides. Very evocative.

There didn’t seem to be a huge number of general public in attendence, possibly due to the slightly confusing website – just what did they charge to get through the gate? We never quite found out. But it seemed to be a successful day overall and another event is on the books for 2014.
