10x8 inches (254x203mm) evocative black and white photo of Miss Pink in her Aston Martin on the startline at Shelesley Walsh Hillclimb. The year is 1924 and she's about to set the best time by a lady at this event.
This is AM 270 chassis B2 the final prototype Aston Martin as road tested by the motor and autocar in 1921. It featured a 1909cc side valve engine and founder "Lionel Martin" himself ran it in the 1921 Lands End and Edinburgh trials, winning gold medals in both. Lionel also won it's debut race at Brooklands and the car went on to be extensively raced and hillclimbed with much success by the works from 1921-23, usually with Martin at the wheel.
Miss Pink bought it in 1924 and aside from Shelsley ran it at Sprad Eagle Hillclimb winning two classes and being 2nd in two more! She was it's last known owner according to my 1979 Aston Martin Register.
