Hardback by long time senior man at the HWM garage which made F1 and F2 cars in the early 50s and for whom Stirling Moss, Duncan Hamilton, Paul Frere, Lance Macklin and Peter Collins drove in their early days alongside company founders John Heath and George Abecassis.
The HWM set up was also a main dealer in Aston Martins and later imported the exotic Facel Vega from France as well as Iso, Jaguar, and other exotic cars.
Hobbs himself raced in the 1940s and early 50s with cars such as an MG K3.
Great behind-the-scenes stories of a fascinating set up at a time when garage proprietors could and did build their own Grand Prix teams.
