Slender 80 page hardback that charts the brief rush to create a 4WD F1 design in the 1960s/70s as power from the newly introduced 3 litre engines had outstripped the grip from the tyres of the day. all wheel drive seemed the future but Aero appeared in 1968 and slick tyres in 1971, rendering the concept unnecessary as well as very expensive. But not before Ferguson, Lotus, BRM, Matra, McLaren and Cosworth all had a go ... only the former managed any success. Very good condition book , small repair to the top front cover-spine hinge ares otherwise very good too.
