Rare book by famous motor sport author and long-time competitor, Austin May, charting the history of Hillclimbing in Britain from 1945 to the early 60s, an era when top names (Moss, Wharton, Collins, Salvadori etc) used to compete in events at venues like SHELSLEY WALSH, PRESCOTT, REST-AND-BE-THANKFULL and BOULEY BAY.
The cars of the era progressed rfrom pre war Grand Prix Alfa Romeos and Maseratis, ERAs and Bugattis to Cooper, Lotus and BRM.
1962 book, 190 pages, fine book with good jacket, there is some wear on the edges and corners as you can see in the photos. There is also some tape repairs on the spine The jackets are quite fragile generally and this one is a bit of a rare survivor.
