Famous book by the legednary journalist 'Jenks' who was Stirling Moss's navigator on the record breaking 1955 win in the Mille Miglia road race (1000miles without changing drivers on closed public roads at almosy 100mph average speed for 10 hours...) and a close observer of how the top drivers went about their art in the 1950s. Jenks' keen observations and close freindship with Moss eneabled him to delve deeply into the science of racecar driving, of the famous ' four wheel drift' and other tequniques emploed at the tume. Huge amount of annecdotal information relating to Fangio, Behra, Hawthorn etc etc. makes this a fascinating read even if you aren't looking to race a Maserati 250F yourself...(I wish! Where's that lottery ticket...?)
